Kansas City, MO – June 4, 2026 – GPS is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Hill as a Senior Principal Consultant. Laura is a senior technology executive with over four decades of experience spanning federal service, military services, and strategic advisory roles. Laura brings deep expertise in enterprise IT operations, data and analytics modernization, cybersecurity, governance, and organizational change, informed by her direct leader of key IT initiatives in complex and heavily regulated environments.
As the former Assistant Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) Forest Service (FS), Laura managed large, complex IT and data portfolios supporting mission‑critical programs. She led the enterprise IT strategy for the Forest Service and achieved historic improvements in cybersecurity posture and workforce transformation.
With her deep technical knowledge and extensive experience across the federal government, Laura is a critical addition to the GPS advisory team. Her exceptional background, proven USDA leadership, and technical expertise make her an invaluable asset to the GPS team and an incredible resource for our government contracting clients.
Laura was recognized as a 2025 Fed 100 Award winner for Innovation for her work with cybersecurity, STEM, and other career milestones. She is a Senior Executive Fellows alumnus of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Idaho State University. Now a consultant and advisor, she helps government and academic institutions design practical, sustainable modernization strategies aligned with mission outcomes, workforce realities, and acquisition constraints.
